You may have recently heard the term bum marketing (article marketing) coining around the web. People use bum marketing for differrent purposes, some will use it to sell affiliate product by putting  back link in the article, some will use it to drive traffic to their site which they monetize through adsense and other advertising network and some will use it to bring traffic to their website which later they call sell (flipping websites).

Here’s how you can make money from bum marketing.

Step #1: Defined a niche marketing you want to talk about

Step #2: Create around 10 articles about the the niche you are trying to market

Step #3: Submit this article to the article directory

Step #4: Now setup a blog in blogger.com or wordpress and have your selling page here so when they come to your pages they are pursuade to purchase from you. In the article put 2 or 3 links back to your blogs, and also in the bio box make sure you have links back to the selling page.

Whats makes a good bum marketing article?  

1. Writing a better quality article when ensure a better click through rate from the reader. 

2. Try to aim the articles word count around 275 to 350 words as this get better CTR.

3. Try to have a smaller paragraph to improve readability (around 3 or line in one paragraph). Smaller paragraph allow better scan reading and help readers get to the end of the article.

4. Numbered list format article get more click through rate then un-numbered list. Not sure why this is so.

5. Use link bait to get user to read as they have better CTR, for example people like to see “How to do…”, “How not to do …”, “10 ways to …”, “Top 10 things …” and etc.

6. Offering something for free that is related to the topic at hand in the resource box to improve the CTR. For example if you talk about website building then offer free content scroll script or ads rotator.

7. Longer titles seem to get more page views and this will result in more traffic.

8. Using a combination of Ezines, hubpages, squidoo and your webpages to promote your selling product. Don’t just submit all your articles to all the the article directories, but instead create some squidoo pages and try linking them.
